Acceptable Use Policy - Zedden I.T.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all Zedden I.T. services. Read alongside our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination without refund.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not use Zedden I.T. services to host, transmit, or facilitate access to content that:
- Is illegal under Canadian federal or Ontario provincial law
- Infringes the intellectual property rights of any person or entity
- Is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive
- Contains or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediate reporting to law enforcement
- Promotes violence, terrorism, or hate speech
- Contains malware, viruses, ransomware, spyware, or other harmful code
- Is designed to deceive users including phishing, spoofing, or fraudulent schemes
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use Zedden I.T. services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or operate open mail relays
- Conduct unauthorized port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or probing
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or data
- Launch denial-of-service (DoS or DDoS) attacks
- Mine cryptocurrency using shared server resources
- Run automated bots or scrapers that consume excessive server resources
- Resell or sublicense hosting services without prior written agreement with Zedden I.T.
- Impersonate any person or entity or falsify your identity
3. Resource Usage
Hosting plans include specific storage and resource limits. You agree not to exceed these limits. Activities that degrade service for other customers may result in throttling, suspension, or a request to upgrade your plan.
Hosting is intended for standard business websites. Video streaming, large file distribution, or high-traffic applications are not permitted on shared plans without prior arrangement.
4. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your WordPress installation including keeping themes, plugins, and core up to date. Zedden I.T. manages server-level security. Application-level security is your responsibility unless you are on a managed plan.
Do not share your WP admin or portal credentials with unauthorized parties. If compromised, notify us immediately at [email protected].
5. Legal Compliance
You are responsible for ensuring your website complies with all applicable laws including:
- Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) if you send commercial electronic messages
- PIPEDA if you collect personal information from Canadian residents
- Canadian copyright law if you publish third-party content
- Canadian consumer protection laws if you operate an e-commerce store

6. Enforcement
Depending on the severity of a violation we may:
- Issue a warning and require corrective action
- Temporarily suspend your account pending investigation
- Permanently terminate your account without refund
- Report illegal activity to the appropriate law enforcement authorities
Terminations for AUP violations are not eligible for a refund. See our Refund Policy for details.
7. Reporting Violations
Email [email protected] with the nature of the violation, the website or content involved, and any supporting evidence.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes will be posted at zeddenit.ca/acceptable-use-policy/ with a revised date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance.
